We worked on how to find the real world distance between two locations by using the scale of a map that shows the two locations and the distance between the two locations on the map. We found the distance between central Phoenix and Wickenburg.
We also saw three different kinds of maps, the Mercator projection, the conic projection, and the equal area projection. Each kind of map has its strengths and its weaknesses. You should be aware of the main strengths and weaknesses of each of these three kinds. There is more information about these projections on the Chapter 2 web page. Assignments:
